7 is the brand new album by Textu rizer, the sound is challenging and the artwork is amazing (minimal and articulate)

For some weird reason the listening of this album made me go back to my library and dust an old companion... And these are my 7 favourite paragraphs of wisdom about the number 7, borrowed by Shiv Charan Singh (The Science Of Applied Numerology):

Many claims have been made for the power and importance of the number 7, far more than it deserves. This is like the king declaring his greatness and forgetting his advisors, or like a wind or water-mill proud of its machinery and stature but forgetting that it is useless without the energy of the wind or water.

Or again like the 7 colours of the rainbow that can only be projected due to the right quality in the atmosphere. None the less, these colours, like the number 7, have their purpose. They act as a sign in the heavens for greater things, while at the same time, by being so fascinating, they also serve to distract our attention from these greater mysteries.

Colours are also important in helping to distinguish form and structure. The number 7 is a number of vision, form and structure. Innner vision perceives a system of 7 chakras, or energy centres. The 7th may well be the gate to heaven but it is not heaven itself. It is not uncommon to find people giving out systems of life and philosophy which are based in the law of 7. There are said to be 7 steps to heaven, there are 7 main notes structuring our musical system (8 is the number of return) the week is structured into 7 days and the 7th day of creation was a day of beholding (witnessing, looking) rather than a day of rest, the 7year cycles are important signposts for persons development, etc.

It is important to note that even though some time cycles are related to the number 7 this does not make 7 the number of time. 7 is the number of structure and time is one of the things that gets structured by the 7 as well as other numbers.

Although new planets have been discovered, astrology still refers to the 7 planets of the ancients as if they have a peculiar importance of their own. This is just as much a statement about the number 7 as it is a statement about those 7 planets. 7 is the number of the upper astral planes (3 is the number of the lower astral planes) where there are many beings or astral bodies, hanging out waiting for the opportunity to process their karma.

A mathematical equality of the number 7 is that it shows a tendency to produce static patterns. It is not a number that has a multiple of whole numbers within it: that means you cannot divide 7 into any multiple of whole numbers. If, however, you divide any number by 7, then if the number is not an exact multiple of 7, it will produce a repeating set of decimal numbers in the order of 285714. This tendency to static patterns is both a quality of predictability and safety as well as quality of entrapment. A similar tendency is noticed in the process of multiplying by seven where the last numbers of each result illustrate a similar arrangement of the trinities 741, 852 & 963.

In the 7th dimension we can learn to be tolerant of others and to allow the view that all paths lead to the same place; even if some routes get there by going in opposite directions. If there is a deficiency of conscious activity in the 7th dimension we might experience instead, extreme inconfidence, shyness and what is known as an inferiority complex. We feel lonely rather than enjoy being alone, yet we do not have the confidence to go out and about to find the company of others. Cynicism and skepticism are the deadly enemies of the self in the 7th dimension. Continuation of these tendencies leads one into a black hole from which it is difficult to return. Of course one may feel OK about this and that is fine. If however one does not feel OK about entering into chaos alone and unguided then it is appropriate to seek some thread with which to trace out the pathway through the labyrinth; some sign posts to that subtle home beyond the death of chaos.
